Commerce Secretary Speculation Surrounds Junior
By Kleinheider Posted on February 14, 2009 at 12:34 pmHarold Ford, Jr.’s name is again among those being bandied about for the cabinet position and sources have made clear he has no “Merrill” problem:
Ford’s folks tell me that he never received a bonus in his time at Merrill Lynch nor was he involved in developing or selling anything having to do with mortgage securities. Ford’s job was simply business development and advising clients on domestic or int’l issues. Bottom line: no one close to Ford believes he has a Merrill problem.

Whatever, as long as he stays out of Tennessee.
It would certainly sour Imus on the Obama administration. Imus has taken time out to call Ford a “low rent backstabbing little skunk” (eg. May 23, 2008, 6:13 am.), against a generally favorable feeling towards Obama.
Ford’s is one of the grudges Imus savours.
Just put the head of ACORN into Commerce, that way ACORN can run the census like Obama wants.
HFJ wants to make money. He also doesn’t deserve to sit at the table with the President to advise him on issues.
What does Junior know about Commerce? Has he ever held a real job in the business world? Oh my stars!
It’s crazy to think that our business minded and practical Governor would be passed over for HHS because he did the only thing that could be done to fix Tenncare and this rascal could get the nod. What an insult to all Tennesseans.
But…but…Jr. doesn’t have the salient experience! He’s not qualified!
Oh, wait…forgot this was the Administration of Mr. Empty Suit we were talking about here…
In a way, it’s really the perfect selection, isn’t it?
I think I detect a little bitterness and racism.
The guy is smart. He has been teaching at
Vanderbilt Law and has a good educational background.
I do think Bredesen would be better but lets
try for a little civility. Imus - really.
