Did I miss the vote on this resolution or did somebody go and jump the gun again?

Complete with a ridiculous email address to boot! Sheesh, folks, can we at least go through the motions and vote on the bill first?

That’s it; I’m asking my doctor to phone in a prescription for an anti-nausea drug.

Tennessee’s Dems and GOPers leave a lot to be desired. TN Dems are power hungry and manipulative, while TN GOPers are whiny, immature, and extremist.

This “Speaker Emeritus” nonsense is a bigger joke than the Republicans’ reaction to Mumpower’s loss this week. Democrats would do well to toss Naifeh under the bus and select a more “good government” member of the State House to lead them.

Get over it! Republicans in Pennsylvania gave their former speaker the “emeritus” title after he lost his slot, so there is a precedent. Its not a big deal! There is no formal power attached to it. Maybe they thought he deserved it after all the crap he’s had to take from the conservative blogosphere and media commentators over the last 18 years.

Who is in charge of the legislative web page? Are there no guidelines or procedures in place? You would think that the body responsible for writing the laws of the state would understand the concept of orderly procedure; i.e. that until a person is legally elected and sworn in to a position, the person does not hold that position. First they started listing Mumpower as Speaker back in November while Nafieh was still in office, and now they list Nafieh as “Speaker Emeritus” two weeks before the legislation is even considered.

    Hey Kleinheider!

You are aware that an ad-hoc group got together and kicked up a controversy by declaring former Tennessee State Legislature Speaker Nasty Jimmy “Boss Hogg” Naifeh a new position on the hill: ‘Speaker Emeritus’

This position has no foundation in law or in our state constitution. That didn’t stop the suck-ups to the former speaker from posting an unofficial page to the official Tennessee Legislature Site.

    Here’s their official, unofficial page:
    http://www.capitol.tn.gov/house/members/h81.html

So any yahoo can spin up and fling out a high falutin’ title if they want, eh? If that be the case, here’s my submission for the former speaker:

A little more true to life, eh?

Which page do you think will garner official approval first? (I may yet tinker and refine my entry to better its chances.)
