Democratic Leader Gary Odom Nominates Rep. Kent Williams (R) For Speaker

Kent Williams did pledge to vote for a Republican Speaker, did he not? Kent Williams, a Republican from Carter County, has always been moderate and a thorn in the side of conservatives. If he becomes Speaker with the votes of 49 Democrats and his own, he’ll be honoring his pledge to vote for a Republican Speaker.

Of course, he won’t be a Republican for long…

    Mr. Williams, I have been employed at Johnson city med. cntr. for 6 moinths. The Tn. board of armed guard lic. [security guard] has denied my Lic. due to a 1986 arrest for simple battery class b misdemeanor in Ga.I have a valid Ga. and Tn. conceal carry permitt and a military top secret clr.I also have back and neck surgery issues whick has limitted me in the working arena.
