Saltsman Drops A Charcoal Briquette In RNC Member Stockings

Posted on December 26, 2008 at 12:20 pm

Tennessee’s homegrown candidate for RNC seems to have made a bit of a faux pas over the holidays distributing a political parody some have called racist to Republican National Committee members:

“Paul Shanklin is a long-time friend, and I think that RNC members have the good humor and good sense to recognize that his songs for the Rush Limbaugh show are light-hearted political parodies,” Saltsman said.

When in doubt… leave it out - excellent rule of thumb.

I don’t remember anyone complaining when Harvard Lampoon released a commercial sound recording in the early ’70s of a Joan Baez sound-alike singing the song titled: “Pull the triggers n___gers. We’re with you all the way, from across the Bay.” Oh! OK, those were Liberals doing it, so it was cool.

Let’s move on to the issues. With all the problems we face, this was not news.

Wow, Tony, that’s all you’ve got? Really clumsy satire of radicals from 1972?

Let’s stay right on this: Chip Saltsman lives in the GOP bubble, where dumb rich guys act like frat boys and high-five each other over Rush’s latest zinger, and act like Bill Hobbs is some sort of political genius.

That’s fine if you want the GOP to be a perpetual loser. But nobody outside the angry far right would find that song anything other than scummy.

Toy’s catch all, all-purpose answer to anything and everything any Republican might do that is questionable — find some Democrat or liberal that might have done something at all similar (even if it was 30 years ago) and screech it like a parrot on cocaine “Well, what about…?” as if that magically makes it al right, justifies it, excuses it, and makes any criticism of the Republican somehow illegitimate.

Tony, that is so lame, so intellectually dishonest, so unconvincing as an argument, and yet so typical. Yes, it works for the dittohead morons. It is a favorite tactic of Limbaugh and the other windbags who do yuur thinking for you. But it really shows why you guys are tailspinning into a hopeless minority.

What’s really lame is avatars turning a chuckle over a song parody, (which I haven’t even heard) in to a snarky policial discourse.

If you want intellectual honesty, focus on something that matters and put your real name on it.

Tony’s second intellectually bankrupt style of making a point is to say, “Well, it’s really not important; let’s talk about something important.” Also a tactic of his fellow dittohead moron sheep. Of course, if a Democrat or a liberal did it, he would never let it go. Next will be to blame “the Media” for daring to report it at all. That’s another tactic of these idiots.

The reason you dittoheads find yourself in the minority, as Obama prepares to become President with huge Democratic majorities in Congress, is that your arguments are transparently vapid, baseless, dishonest, and pointless. I know you don’t believe it, Tony, but all Americans really don’t want leader as clueless, willfully ignorant, and ignorant as the typical talk radio listener. Palin will never get to the top; the American people have suffered for the past eight years with one moron, we don’t need a worse one.

But, hey, elect Chip Saltsman as your chairman. He can oversee another Democratic landslide in 2010. And laugh at racist ditties all the way.

The discourse on both sides of this argument here is really mature. It makes me proud to share the Interwebs with all of you.

Oh, and as for discourse in general, I usually write off people who recognize a group of individuals with some derogatory term: dittohead, moron, et al. It seems I’m the only standing athwart immature discourse yelling, “Grow Up!”…

How about… if you can’t say something nice and halfway intelligent, then don’t say anything at all?

    Problem solved.

I would like to chime in intellectually and say that Saltman being an elected steward of the people does nothing more than to perpetuate the stereotypical stigma of southern white republican males. RACIST behind closed doors, while smiling at public events standing with black leaders. How can a man running for GOP leadership send this out!!?? This is not satire. Did he send the cd to any black Republicans? Come on, satire!! BARACK THE MAGIC NEGRO!! This is part of the problem with the National GOP. They are exclusive in mentality. Just like the Republican convention. They cater to their base. White males whom still hold racist ideals, in the name of satire. Poor taste, poor song and I hope they continue to put on stuff like this. It only hurts them nationally even more.

Mr. Saltman should apologize, but he wont because “GOOD OLE BOYS” will always be “GOOD OLE BOYS”!!

Hey, fight fire with fire, Matthew. John Kerry’s failure to call out the dittohead morons (an apt and thoroughly accurate description) gave us four more years of the worst President in history..

Write again when you are old enough to shave every day.

That’s right.. inappropriate innuendo about race is not a racist.

For the individuals who think that this is ok. I have a question for you. What’s a real black person?
