Saving Capitalism From Obama — And Itself

Posted on December 17, 2008 at 1:09 pm

From Spectrum Magazine:

William Kristol, neoconservative leader and Weekly Standard editor, believes that the time has come to rethink capitalism. “It will be important, over the next four years,” he writes in the November 24 edition of his journal, “to fight to save free-market capitalism from the Barack Obama administration. It will be almost as important—and more interesting—to figure out how to how to save capitalism from its worst aspects and most damaging tendencies.”

Once again, for the second time in less than a century, Democrats are called upon to save capitalism from itslef after Republicans used it like a crackhead uses crack.

    ironic, eh?

Please LWC. FDR saved capitalism? We had double digit unemployment through the thirties.
Republicans wrecked capitalism? Funny, I thought Freddie and Fannie were Govt. Supported Enterprises. No, they weren’t the only players but they were dominant.

William Kristol wouldn’t know “free market capitalism” if it smacked him upside the head. His views concerning the use of the military to police the world for the benefit of Corporate entities smacks more of fascism than anything else. Unfortunately guys like Kristol get paraded around as the “face” of capitalism by modern day neoconservative republicans. Advocates of “free markets” and individual rights should denounce these types at every opportunity.
