Cash Rules Everything Around You

David Oatney’s super secret source on why Vance Cheek has no chance to defeat Ira Brody for the position of State Treasurer:

“Most legislators on both sides of the aisle neither know nor care what it is that these constitutional officers actually do every day. They do know who had given them the most money in the last election. For that reason, your candidate has very little chance to win.”

Gosh, I certainly hope not. I’m going to give our legislators just a little more credit than that…

Having gone through the interview phase of the vetting process established by Senator Norris and Representative Mumpower, I can say the process is the first legitimately public-freindly, informative process ever implemented by the General Assembly. It is an honor to be a part of it.

Total bullshit dog-and-pony show. Drag these “applicants” in, ask them phony questions, and then appoint the campaign fundraisers and political hacks.

Oops. I mispelled “friendly”. So much for typing on my Blackberry. If this doesn’t disqualify me . . .

What an incredible ignorant comment by mr. Oatney. Most legislators that have their heads about them believe these officers are some of the most important positions in all of state government. Only ignorant legislators don’t know what they do. The current office holders may be partisan but the are not hyper partisans that aren’t qualified. No one of any party can dispute the great job they have done, and anyone with any sense knows they have done well. The only fault they have is that they are democrats, which now for them isn’t good. But any legislators with any sense or understands state government at all knows what they do. Otherwise they wouldn’t be wanting to replace them so badly.

I get that these dirty republicans are motivated by who is filling their pockets. But from where is all of Brody’s money coming from?

    Tennessee Republicans = Illinois Democrats
