Proprietors Of ‘Bryson For Tennessee’ Revealed
Posted on November 18, 2008 at 4:20 pmThe website which first emerged on the blog Bear Creek Ledger, states on its about page that it is “not associated with any candidate, candidate’s committee, or political party” and that the site is “privately funded and maintained web site dedicated to urging and convincing the Tennessee State Legislature to appoint Senator Jim Bryson as Secretary of State.”
In a press release, Joshua Pendergrass outs himself as the creator of the site, explains who he is, and announces a Board of Directors:
In addition to providing an online voice to the movement in support of Sen. Bryson, BrysonForTennessee.com hopes to become an organization which influences our state legislature to seriously consider and embrace true conservative principles when making appointments to the state’s constitutional offices. Under the direction of its Board of Directors, the organization will spear heard unofficial efforts to convince state lawmakers that Sen. Bryson is the best choice for Secretary of State. Members of the Board of Directors include: Joshua Pendergrass, Jeremiah Fitzgerald, Cynthia McClard, Dustin Dunbar, and Janet Slothtower. More members are expected to be added to the board in the coming days.
This kind of grassroots effort is quite unheard of for constitutional offices such as Secretary of State. The officers are chosen, not by the people, but by a joint convention of the legislature.
Having achieved a numerical majority in both houses of the legislature, speculation has been rampant as to whom would replace the current slate of constitutionals whom became controversial in Republicans circles for their open support and campaigning for Democratic Party candidates.

Would those principles be balanced budgets, job creation and education? Or Abortion, banning adoption rights and banning wine sales in grocery stores?
