After You Vote For Barack Obama, Vote Lamar

Posted on October 22, 2008 at 6:38 am

The not so subtle message of Lamar Alexander’s new advertising campaign in Memphis:

The second spot begins airing Wednesday in Memphis and Nashville. In it, Brown recalls that as governor in 1980, Alexander “appointed me as the first African-American justice on the Tennessee Supreme Court. More recently, Senator Alexander pushed to have Bishop William Graves approved as the first African-American to serve on the TVA Board of Directors – and then fought to keep him there when others tried to block him from serving. Lamar has always been ahead of his time, doesn’t care if you’re Democrat, Republican or independent.”

    That’s how I did it.

Why does the author, Kleinheider, title this article “After you vote for Obama…..”?
It is an underhanded distortion of what was actually said by the individuals to which hew refers in the article.

Obama seems to have locked up the vote of the spineless and the morally bankrupt. Kleinheider proves himself to be both by his publishing of this article.

What an absurd title, and extremely misleading.

“That’s why after I vote president, I will vote to send my friend Lamar Alexander back to the U.S. Senate.”

That’s what Judge George Brown says after saying that Lamar doesn’t care if you are a Republican or Democrat.

You are gonna tell me with a straight face that the vaguely veiled message of these ads are not exactly what my title says?

    Please.
