An Important Message From The Man Who Wrote The Book On White People

Posted on October 14, 2008 at 11:13 pm

Literally. Senator Jim Webb vouches for Barack Obama on guns:

In the ad, Webb, a Vietnam vet and gun enthusiast, recounts his own gun history — his dad gave him his first rifle when he was eight — and goes on to explain that gun-love runs in his veins.

“Our family tradition of hunting and shooting are a way of life to me, and no government will ever take that away,” Webb says. “I am an NRA member and I know that my friend Barack Obama will protect our second amendment rights. So don’t be misled about Barack Obama…I trust him to protect our right to keep and bear arms.”

The repetition of the word “trust” is interesting, as is Webb’s description of Obama as “my friend.” Webb’s military and gun cred are being pressed into service to deflect attacks on Obama as a risky unknown, and Webb is personally vouching for his fellow Senator.

Please explain how one rich DEMOCRAT politician speaking up for another is noteworthy? Senator Webb of course doesn’t have to worry about HIS guns being taken away…when you are that high up in GOV, you can get an exception to ANY rule…if and when he gets elected, you can bet that Obama will RUSH a new gun ban through Congress that will make the Clinton ban look downright reasonable…totalitarians ALWAYS wish to disarm the populace before they screw them over! Ask the Jews or Armenians!

    ACK -

Nice to see Jim Webb ruining his own credibility by attaching himself to Obama’s gun record. You know that this has been cached for future use…

    Rob,

Considering Obama is on track to win Virginia by a greater margin than Webb did versus your former man-crush George Allen, I don’t think it is as politically risky as you’d like to think.

    1) If Obama wins Virginia, then it will be on the coattails of Mark Warner.

    2) Jim Webb has said that Obama is pro-Second Amendment. What a load of BS. He has one of the worst Second Amendment records of any candidate to ever run for the White House. For someone with nothing to lose with pro-firearms voters to hitch his credentials to someone with a disasterous record won’t help Webb’s credibilty.

    3) If Obama is winning Virginia by so much, then why does Webb even have to say anything?

    Cheers,

    Rob,

    1) Mark Warner has maintained a consistent lead in the polls, Obama has gained enormous ground over the past few months.

    2) Depends on how you look at the 2nd amendment. If you think faux machine guns should be legal, than I suppose you have a point.

    3) So, you think one who is ahead in the polls should stop campaigning? Stellar logic, ask your man-crush George Allen how that turned out.

    Cheers,

    Sean

    1) One does not get F’s from NRA, GOA, and every other actual pro-Second Amendment group based on all of those “faux machine gun” votes. With all due respect, you are out of your depth here.

    2) I wasn’t aware that Jim Webb was running for anything this election cycle. Has he abandoned his Senate seat? Perhaps you don’t see the difference between Jim Webb and Barack Obama (I do - they’re vast), but I assure you that they are two distinct human beings.

    Cheers,

    Rob

    Rob,

    1) One gets F’s from the NRA when they don’t cow tow to the gun industry.

    2) Jim Webb is not running, but Barack Obama is running like he were behind, which was the position Jim Webb was in when he went up against your former man-crush George “Macaca” Allen.

    Cheers,

    Sean
