Wamp Opponent Wants Debate

Posted on October 9, 2008 at 7:48 am

An independent candidate for Congress accuses her opponent Rep. Zach Wamp of failing to do due diligence in researching the bailout bill which passed last week:

Dr. Howard-Hill said she thought Rep. Wamp should have done more research to educate constituents in the 3rd District about the $700 billion economic bailout bill Congress passed last week.

Rep. Wamp said he has done his best to communicate with the people in his district.

“As one of the 58 (House members) who voted ‘no’ (on Monday), and then ‘yes’ (on Friday), I am on the offensive to explain what this was, what the process is, and why we had no choice but to do what we did,” he said. “I’ve done a strong job of doing that, from going on talk radio to civic groups and other events. The only way I can communicate more with my constituents is to not sleep at night. That’s the only way.”

Basically he voted to give 700 billion to Mr. Paulson and then let the Hanker make up the “plan”. I would like to see him explain in detail “what it was” because the “plan” isn’t even complete yet. Heck we may never know what the “plan” is except we can have faith in knowing that no matter what happens…Goldman Sachs is safe.

The “plan” is that the highway will be cleared for a lot more than $700 billion.
