Needling Niederhauser

Posted on October 2, 2008 at 10:41 am

The Tennessee Democratic Party accuses a state Senate candidate of having it both ways on an issue that the state legislature will not ultimately have much say over:

On his website (under “Beliefs”), Republican State Senate candidate Mike Niederhauser writes on illegal immigration, “First, secure our borders with a fence and deport every illegal immigrant with any criminal violations. Then, count the number of illegal immigrants we have left and deport those we don’t need as workers. Finally, get a green card program in place to allow the others to work.” Sounds like a clear definition of an amnesty program, right?

But in a Warren County candidates’ forum Monday night, Niederhauser claimed that he does not support amnesty.

Why are they concerned about Niederhauser? I thought they already had this seat won?

So just because a candidate has no chance of winning he has a license to lie?
