All Tied Up

From CBS:

The presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain is now even at 42 percent, according to a new CBS News poll conducted Monday-Wednesday of this week. Twelve percent are undecided according to the poll, and one percent said they wouldn’t vote.

    McCain is going to win. Americans dont like united government.

    If the popular vote was decisive, one could to conclude that it really was “all tied up.” However, that crazy little electoral college thingie suggests otherwise.

    What matters is where that undecided 12% lives. If they all move to Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio, then you’ve got yourself a horse race. Right now, though, the electoral projections I’m looking at are considerably less close and Obama’s ahead. I think it’s too in flux right now to be reliable, though. Lots of wishful thinking red/blue polling. We’ll see what happens in the RNC bump and slide in the last week of September.

    Americans don’t like united government? That’s not always true. That wasn’t true in 2000 and 2004, for example. And keep in mind that the Supreme Court is essentially in GOP hands right now even if it’s not thought to be “political” because of life terms, etc.
