No, Let’s Talk About It

Posted on September 2, 2008 at 9:50 am

Mick Wright, a Republican, thinks Barack Obama is wrong to say that the situation in which Bristol Palin finds herself is off-limts for public discussion:

It’s perfectly fair for us to talk about how Sarah Palin’s socio-religious views play out in her own family. What does it mean for her husband? What does it mean for her children, and her children’s children? Does Gov. Palin advocate abstinence-only education both at home and in public schools? If so, what is the product of that ideology, and how does she personally deal with the benefits and consequences of those views? Further, how practical is that ideology when contrasted with more liberal sex education, and what are the comparative statistics on pregnancy, birth and STDs?

Either it’s all off-limits or none of it is. If this issue should be off-limits, then I expect that the TNGOP will stop smearing Michelle Obama. But if she’s fair game, then so is this.

I agree family should be off limits how would anyone else like there personal business put on display. I think its pretty low to attack families rather then the issues. Politicians tend to attack families rather then issues which I find disgusting please someone show me a perfect family with no mistakes or things they want unknown.

The prenancy of Palin’s teenage daughter is a LOUD example that “abstinence-only” programs clearly do not work. They are out-of-touch with reality because when hormones begin raging, most teens will have sex. Maybe not all will, but most will.
