Partying Over Pigment And Plumbing

Jed Brewer is excited that, no matter what happens in the election, one of the top two spots will be held by someone who is not a white male:

Bravo to you Senator for looking past the labels this country sometimes has problems looking past. This is a truly historic selection, as it ensures that one of our top two offices will be held by someone other than a white male.

If Sarah Palin can eviscerate a wild salmon, she can do the same to Joe Biden. The woman can shoot a gun and shoot the rock. These guys claim to have all of this experience, but as those inside the beltway know, policy is dictated on Capitol Hill by the 30somethings on their staffs, not the Senators themselves. Sarah Palin and her banana clip are going to bring this country finally into the 21st century and thank you John McCain for realizing that.

    In response to Dee-

Since you brought up the banana clip… Those inside the beltway know (unlike you) that banana clips are from the 20th century and are tremendously outdated. Most “30somethings” are frightened that a 44 year old woman who is now on the national scene would appear in any formal capacity with such a ridiculous thing in her hair. It shows a tremendous lack of professionalism and judgement. I would say the same about a potential male VP that exploded on the scene with a mullet.

As far as I am concerned, it shows the same judgement as a person who applies for a professional position and arrives at the interview in jeans. Before you attack me for being an elitist, I am from the South and I wear jeans to work.

I am sure that Palin is a fascinating and intelligent person. I just can’t figure out what the heck shooting a gun and eviscerating a wild salmon has to do with being well-versed in world politics.

-My hope is that our leaders are knowledgable enough about policy and history to be able to collaborate with staff members rather than solely rely on the information they provide. Whether you agree with Biden or not, please do not imply that Palin’s tenacity compares to his knowledge of foreign and domestic policy.
