Mismatch Or A Debate Biden Was Born To Lose

Katie Granju asserts that Sarah Palin may be out of her league when she has to debate Joe Biden this fall in the Vice Presidential debate.

I’m not so sure. A gaffe prone Senator accustomed to the old boy’s club of the Senate against a fresh faced young woman? Not entirely a layup for old Joe.

Biden’s style, while formidable, can be somewhat abrasive. Against a woman, Biden will face a labyrinth of potential pitfalls he likely hasn’t often encountered.

Whether it should be this way or not, is a question for another day, but the fact remains that debating a woman in the modern media environment requires a certain skill set. It is a skill set Biden lacks.

    I expect most voters will know that she should be treated like any other person running for VP-and-one-heartbeat-away-from-the-Presidency. Biden doesn’t have to be any nicer to her than she to him.

    this woman governs a state with a population of LESS THAN 700,000 for the total state….I mean Memphis Metro area is larger than that. But if she wants to run with the big dogs, he owes her no more than he would give one of the guys…I’m a feminist and it makes me ill to see women expecting any different.

    Not only that, Biden’s been on the front end of some important women’s issues. It’s not only possible, but very likely that his record, in tone and content, is more female-friendly than his GOP counterpart’s.

    If she will, Hillary can take McCain’s Veep apart like a lean-to in leggo land.

    If Sarah Palin can eviscerate a wild salmon, she can do the same to Joe Biden. The woman can shoot a gun and shoot the rock. These guys claim to have all of this experience, but as those inside the beltway know, policy is dictated on Capitol Hill by the 30somethings on their staffs, not the Senators themselves. Sarah Palin and her banana clip are going to bring this country finally into the 21st century and thank you John McCain for realizing that.
