While he should have thought to shake her hand before leaving, her reaction is clearly staged. Watching that video, he obviously turned to go without seeing her reach out. She, on the other hand, deliberately and over-dramatically leaves her hand hanging. In fact, after withdrawing her hand she puts it out there again after he was gone just to make sure everyone saw it! He didn’t “rebuff” her. His action was rude in that he was thoughtless. What he did was a boneheaded careless gaffe. But what she did — that whole fake, staged thing that politicians always do — is a whole lot more sickening. It turns my stomach every time politicians on either side of the aisle act that way. Could someone please tell these politicians that we would love it if they could shed the shell and be real people for a while? Have they ever had a genuine emotion or reaction in their lives? We really can’t stand their feigned outrage at contrived offenses. For Pete’s sake, quit play-acting.

Looks like the three members of the Barnes online army have their panties in a wad over their boy getting smacked in the face again. Barnes is a punk.

It’s time for Timmie to pay his taxes on time!

What a pathetic hack Kurita has become…her last line in this video is lifted straight from the movie “The American President.”

Whatever. Barnes has ten times the integrity that Kurita has. She ripped off movie lines for her speech. She lied to many people about her vote for Ramsey. Hope it was worth it, Ros, see you in the unemployment line on Friday.

    Hey, Exxon,

Do you really think it’s not obvious that you are the one commenter who is a shill for one of the candidates? I couldn’t care less about Barnes, and frankly I think he was an idiot for getting up and walking away like that without shaking her hand. However, I also see her behaving in that disgustingly fake manner that politicians do. I’m just calling it like it is. Both of them look bad to me in this video. She loses more points than him, though, and the “enterprising young Kurita supporter” who put this video together needs to understand that this is the kind of campaign crap that only appeals to the partisan faithful — like you for example, Exxon. It turns everybody else off. It’s a catch-22: This is the kind of gamesmanship that keeps good people from running in the first place. Sadly, the very kinds of people that we would want to serve in office have too much self-respect, or have better things to do with their lives, than to allow themselves to be soiled by participating in this process. So as a result, the people who run are the people who live for this kind of garbage, and we get more of the same, making the good people even that much less likely to run. Around and around it goes. I know of a few quality people who have been or are canidates, but they are the rare exceptions. The rest think that videos like this score them points.

BP, whats so wrong with being partisan? I hear that “i hate partisanship rant” all the time from dems and gopers as well. But look what “bi-partisanship” got us in the Tennessee State Senate in recent years. We had an old man in charge who probably belonged in a nursing home more than he did a heartbeat away from becoming Governor and we had nearly a third of the democrat caucus arrested on corruption charges.

I find the behavior of Tim Barnes upsetting. In each polling booth, there is on the wall sample ballot sheets that show which candidate is running on what ballot. Voters have the opportunity to look at the ballot sheets on the wall before voting. In addition, these ballots were in the newspapers along with numerous articles before the election stating that Senator Kurita and Tim Barnes were running in a Democratic Primary. If with all this information a voter did not understand that they were running in a democratic primary, they were not trying very hard. Many voters did not get to vote for Senator Kurita because they were asked the one question that they are supposed to be asked, “Are you a Democrat or a Republican.” They were then given the correct ballot. I am sorry that they voted on the wrong ballot, maybe next time they will pay attention to the newspapers or look at the sample ballots at the polling station. The men and women that work at the polling stations work very hard at their jobs and I think that it is awful that people would present falsehoods about them, in order to get their candidate elected.
