Kurita Opens Up On Primary Opponent
By Kleinheider Posted on August 3, 2008 at 10:49 pmLeaving nothing to chance, Senator Rosalind Kurita, the swing vote who gave Republican Ron Ramsey the Speaker’s chair, goes negative on her primary opponent Tim Barnes, a man backed by members of her own Democratic Caucus:
In an ad that ran on Meet the Press this morning, Sen. Kurita ran a negative ad which claimed Barnes was “risky” because as a lawyer he represented clients for DUI offenses while she worked in the Senate to increase punishments for drinking and driving. The ad also made the claim that Barnes failed to (or improperly filed) taxes on 4 separate occasions.

Honestly, are those commercials not the most ridiculous things ever? Give us a break Rosalind. Do you really underestimate the intelligence of the people in your district that much? I’m waiting for the next set that says, “Tim Barnes steals toys from kids” and “Tim Barnes plays scrabble with terrorists in his basement.” Sad effort Rosalind, very sad.
Just like a liberal, Tim Barnes wants to tax everyone else but can’t pay his own taxes. Is that what Jim Kyle taught him?
[...] we mentioned last night, Senator Rosalind Kurita has gone negative in her Democratic primary race for her state Senate [...]
That’s right (insert sarcasm here). He never paid his taxes. Ever ever ever. Get real. It’s in a Kurita commercial for Pete’s sake. Can we please try and be a little more objective in our candidate research? You can’t trust the source of an ad run by an opponent who is desperate to maintain a position she knows she’s in danger of losing and is trying to exploit the emotions of viewers. She’s counting on people’s laziness not to do their own work and double check her claims. This has been her tactic for 12 years. Why does anyone still believe what comes out of her mouth? You should expect more class from your elected official.
