Sharon Gentry Now Against Rezoning

Jamie Sarrio reports on the Chamber endorsed candidate’s new position:

“Our communities are what they are. You create a community school and now you’re concentration is 91-percent black, it’s because your community is 91-percent black, not because the school has been rezoned. It’s just a reflection of where we are.

Now you have the fears of the community that are at-risk of being realized is that now I’ve got all these inner city, low-SES kids, concentrated in this area, and it’s under funded, it’s under resourced, it’s under-everything. And so, you know so the clock starts to turn back for a lot of people who’ve experienced that in the past.”
