Reconstitute The Fairness Doctrine To Fight “Hate” Crime
By Kleinheider Posted on July 29, 2008 at 12:57 pmThat’s prescription the Left Wing Cracker is writing to prevent future tragedies like the one in Knoxville:
This is why, as one of his first acts as President, Barack Obama needs to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. Yes, it will wipe out Progressive Talk, but it will also wipe out Limbaugh, O’Reilly, Hannity, and those other denizens of hatred of everyone non-white, non-rightwing and non-Christian fundie. Fox News, of course, would either have to start employing real journalists or shut down; either way, we are all better off.

Left Wing Hitler, collation is not causation!
The left will grasp for anything to shut down Rush.
Ugh, not this crap again. If liberals want to counter the rhetoric on conservative talk radio, then maybe more (and better) liberal talk show hosts need to jump in the biz.
BCR-educated Mickey: “collation is not causation!”
Collation gets a bad rap, especially when compared with its evil brothers, stapling and binding.
joe - “assembling in proper numerical or logical sequence.” because we have freedom of speech, we have talk radio, we have ‘conservative’ radio, radio is against liberals, talk radio listeners kill liberals.
well, that’s sure how it worked in Knoxville, didn’t it?
Great Cracker,
Hate is not the sole property of the Right. Your little commentary is typical of how much of the Left chooses to define any criticism of its values as hate or bigotry or whatever else you happen to have handy. That does as much to poison public debate as anything on Conservative talk radio.
And you seem to lump all Conservative opinion (and Conservatives) into an indistinguishable mass. That is as unfair as suggesting that all supporters of Senator Obama are misogynists because a few of them used blatantly sexist arguments.
I always find it amusing that those of us who do not seem to share the superior enlightenment and moral certainty (a curious stand from the mostly relativist Left, no?) of the Left are treated as defectives. Talk about judgmental…
If you would just step up and claim your right to determine acceptable speech and who is or isn’t a hater, it would save us all some valuable time.
By the way, was Colin Ferguson inspired by left-wing hate?
Mark,
Some things are so obvious that they need no response, unless, of course, you’re not paying attention.
LeftWingCracker has obviously misspelt his “screen name.” Having read his irrational suggestion it should be equally obvious to all that it should be spelled “LeftWingCrackers!”
