Ususually an even-tempered bipartisan figure, Herman Wang notes Senator Bob Corker’s increasing frustration with Democrats on the isssue of domestic oil production:

“My daughters learned about supply and demand in elementary school,” he said Thursday. “I am so frustrated at our lack of using the God-given intelligence we have as people to solve a very basic problem.”

    Dear Senator Corker,

If I have the last bucket of water on Earth and I’m selling it for $1 Zillion dollars, how much is the bucket worth if I add one more drop of water? Please show your work.

    Sincerely,

And yet, ironically, we can increase supply faster, easier and cheaper by simple conservation measures that the Republicans have been blocking for years. Sorry to blogwhore, but I did notice that analysts credit the recent drop in gas prices to decreased demand. And we didn’t have to drill one drop. Amazing.
