Not The End Of The World

Clark Stooksbury is not going to shed a bunch of tears if the Right continues to lose power:

The Republicans took over congress two years later and it took them about five minutes to reach the level of arrogance and corruption that the Dems built up in forty. I assume she is old enough to remember when it all blew up in the Republican’s faces in 2006 to get us where we are right now. In other words, the world did not end, and will not end if rightwingers are out of power.

The ‘Right-Wingers’ have never been in power. The Government got larger in the 40 years with the democrats, it got larger with the 6-8 years of the republicans, it is getting larger with the democrats now…. Not A Dime’s Worth of Difference…

Mickey, we have had a VERY conservative government for 6-8 years. You should understand that conservatism hasn’t been about smaller government since the Goldwater days. Conservatism today is big government with a right-wing flavor: more restrictions on personal freedoms, more business subsidies, more war, and higher spending financed by future generations instead of current taxpayers.

I have respect for Goldwater conservatives. The neocons, not so much.
