A Grave Insult, Indeed

The State of Tennessee refuses Ophelia Ford’s request to reinstate her funeral director’s license which lapsed while she was feeling poorly:

I think it’s a grave insult and a shame that anyone would have their license taken from them under circumstances such as mine.”

All joking aside, let’s back up for a moment and pretend that the funeral director in question is NOT named Ford. Why is there no exception made for medical hardship here? If this were some cracker from Wayne County, would there be an exception made?
    Why? Why not?

OK, we now return to regular programming.

She’s got NO sympathy from me. Her brother, her family, expended a great deal of effort protecting the funeral industry for their own gain and it seems a measure of justice for her to be a ‘victim’ of the family attempts to shut out competition.

Frankly, what’s the problem with retaking the test once every 10 years anyway? Oh yeah, you have to actually pass it.

LWC I believe a funeral director named Boyd from Decatur County about ten years ago had the same happen to him and he was white.

Well, Mr. T, good for consistency’s sake, but given the circumstances, maybe the policy should be revisited for ALL funeral directors with medical hardships.

LWC, I resent your use of the racist epithet “cracker.” Please stop, and change your moniker, even. Your political instincts are becoming “progressively” unreliable, my friend.
