Joe Lance does not share the view of the Tennessee Democratic Party that the GOP is to blame for one of its state executive committee members reactionary views on Barack Obama:

[T]he state party has issued a statement blaming, of course, Republicans for the ignorant statements. I disagree, although I have certainly witnessed all the nefarious and dishonest hit jobs by the TNGOP against the Obama family. My gut tells me that this is the type of Democrat one is dealing with in some parts of rural Tennessee and elsewhere.
