Third Party Watch reports that popular Congressman Jim Cooper, world renown for his fiscal conservatism, will be getting a challenge from his left in this years congressional campaign for the Fifth District:

The Green Party of Tennessee nominated John P. Miglietta as their candidate for Tennessee’s Fifth District U.S. House seat on May 3, 2008 in Music City, USA. John Miglietta’s keen grasp of the vital issues confronting us, combined with his warm personality and dedication to peaceful resolution of conflict, make him ideally suited to serve in the United States Congress. He is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Tennessee State University.
