The Sincerest Form Of Flattery
By Kleinheider Posted on June 2, 2008 at 8:57 amThe Tennessee Democratic Party, learning at the foot of the master, releases a YouTube video welcoming John McCain to Nashville:
In this morning’s paper responding to whether his own communications shop would attempt to replicate “blogstorms” created by his GOP counterpart Bill Hobbs via his press releases and YouTube videos, Tennessee Democratic Party spokesman Wade Munday said:
“We just highlight the positive message. In no way do we exist to bring attention to ourselves. Our focus is on our candidates and our message.“

But is it really flattery when it’s so poorly done? I mean c’mon, at least the TNGOP started with Michelle’s own words…this is just some people in a coffee shop repeating opinion with no citations at all. And if that picture of the hug at the end is supposed to be damning…well, it’s hardly a hug to be frank.
Ah, the “100 years of war in Iraq” lie is repeated again, despite having been thoroughly debunked by the national media.
The Tennessee Democrat Party: recycling lies.
“despite having been thoroughly debunked by the national media.”
Right. Don’t you mean despite having been the GOP noise machine desperately scream on talk shows for 2 straight weeks trying to change what McCain said… and failing.
Keep lying, court jester.
Bill,
Has McCain set a deadline for when we would begin to withdraw if we can’t pacify the country?
[...] the Ryman today you may see a few folks donning George W. Bush masks in order, one would assume, to further the meme that the election of John McCain would amount to a third Bush [...]
Sean, McCain and Obama both say …years…
Don’t have to, Sean. The war is almost over. Even the Washington Post sees it - http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/gallery/2008/05/30/GA2008053003220.html?sid=ST2008053100997 - and said in an editorial Sunday that Barack Obama was wrong about the war and now needs a new plan to consolidate victory rather than his current plan to withdrawal from defeat.
Only Hobbs would cite an article that actually contradicts his point…the article specifically discusses the fact that the peace in Basra may well be temporary…so here is a question for B-Ho, if he is so supportive of the war, why has he not yet joined the military and offered to serve? (Don’t expect a direct answer).
So the WaPo editorial board, which supported Bush’s war from the outset, still supports it…well good on them.
So McCain’s plan is to let things play out, and assume they will play out in his favor. Well, if they don’t; if Sadr attempts to resurrect his militia, if a new militia takes root, how long will we stay in Iraq? If Sadr prevails in having the US occupation put to a vote, will we respect the wishes of the Iraq people?
[...] Politico’s Jonathan Martin reviews the Tennessee Democratic Party’s YouTube welcoming of John McCain to Nashville: Playing off the Tennessee GOP’s much-buzzed-about YouTube [...]
The alleged peace candidate who has made his opposition to the Iraq war a centerpiece of his campaign cannot even promise that the U.S. will be out of Iraq by 2013! Senator Obama also has stated: “This withdrawal would be gradual, and would keep some US troops in the region to prevent a wider war and go after Al Qaeda and other terrorists.” Even Obama’s own website proclaims, “he will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda.” One has to wonder if Obama plagiarized those plans from McCain himself due to the extreme similarities.
Heather, you don’t expect him to actually READ the article, do you? Reading is something that only egghead elitist lib’ruls do.
I’m laughing at that Democratic Party spokesman. People down here are calling the mail piece the Dems sent out against our Republican rep “tacky” and worse. I have heard this all over town, and people have vented about it in the local newspaper.
