One Surrogate Mother

Posted on May 21, 2008 at 6:35 pm

The defense of the actions of the TNGOP continues:

After all, the Obama campaign did not find it detestable to criticize Hillary Clinton’s husband for things he said on the campaign trail while giving speeches on her behalf, and Barack didn’t go on Good Morning America to whine and tell people to “Lay off Hillary’s husband.”

Neither did Hillary, by the way. And if she had tried to claim statements made by her spouse on the campaign trail were off limits to scrutiny and criticism, you know the Obama campaign and the national media would have laughed hysterically at her.

Absolutely true. Every word. And I’m a Democrat.
Once again, we have a candidate whose list of things we can’t talk about or ask of him grows by the minute. Everything is off bounds for this uniter and healer.

    And I’m a Democrat…

Is that one of those fake qualifiers people use before saying something totally contradictory, sort of like how people say “I’m not racist, but” before saying something completely racist? Because most Democrats I know don’t spout Republican talking points even if they support Hillary.

This blind loyalty is frightening. Yep, I’m a proud Democrat who can think for myself… and I think we’re going to lose another presidential election catering only to the radical left-wing move on.org faction of the party by ignoring the more qualified candidate and pushing this motivational speaker with zero experience up against a war hero patriot with plenty of experience.

I’m loyal to Hillary but not blind to her faults. You can’t find one Obama disciple who will even acknowledge he’s got problems. Their catch-phrase, designed to frighten people, is to shout “racist” to any serious question posed of their….whatever he is. I’m not even sure anymore.

So vote for McCain then. Vote for 100 more years in Iraq and for an economy that will continue to crumble. That’ll sure show those crazy kids!

And by the way, no one ignored Hillary. No one pushed her out of the way for Obama. This was her race to lose and she lost. She started out with by far the most money and the most name recognition and she still lost. She has no one to blame but herself and the idiots who ran her campaign.

Goldni, Obama and McCain are the same on the ‘war’ in Iraq.

Trust me, if Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for President of the United States of America, I WILL be voting for John McCain. He’s 10,000 times better than somebody who wants to sit down and play pattcake and sing kumbaya with our enemies who want to destroy us and wipe Israel off the face of the map.

And EVERYBODY is trying to push Hillary out the door to make way for the great Obama. I don’t know where you’ve been. And why? If she didn’t have so much support, hadn’t won all the big states and voters we need and wasn’t a threat to their agenda, nobody would be saying a word. Yet, everybody calls for her daily to drop out or questions why she’s still hanging in there. Why?? If their guy is so strong, why should they care how long she stays in the race?

I don’ know about spouting Republican talking points. Perhaps Lab agrees genuinely with the point that some Republicans made. Sounds pretty post partisan to me.

    Lab,

You make broad generalizations about people, and then claim they call you a racist when I haven’t seen one person call you a racist on this blog yet.

Sure Obama has his faults, but just because we don’t think he’s a phony as you seem to think, doesn’t mean we all drink “the kool-aid”.

As for people calling on Hillary to drop out, who? Very few people are calling on her to quit. Some question why she is still in it if she can’t realistically win it. And some have asked that she not attack the probably Democratic nominee without her having a pathway to victory, but the call for Hillary to drop out is very small.

Oh my goodness. I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. I am stating facts, not broad generalizations. And I have said that nobody has called me personally a racist because I wouldn’t associate with people who would do that when you ask an honest question of someone running for president. So please. Try another tactic. But, if you don’t read the papers or watch tv, then I can see where you wouldn’t know these facts are out there.

Can you name me some of Obama’s faults? I’ve yet to hear them from the disciples.

I can’t even form a response to your last statement. I will just assume you don’t tune into the mainstream media or read newspapers.

Martin, thanks for your comment. It’s not just Republicans who question his qualifications to be President of the United States of America. Millions of Democrats and Independents who’ve already voted in many states state the same thing in exit polls.

Lab, the qualifications are: age 35, US citizen.
Obama meets these. That doesn’t mean he SHOULD be President. He is a bigger socialist than (…. name here)

    Nope, no republican here.

Of course you can’t, because you are just regurgitating what other people have said, with nothing to back it up. You claim that Obama supporters call anyone who disagrees with Obama a “racist,” I have not seen this, and the impetus would be on you to prove it.

As for Obama’s faults. He sometimes panders more than he should, such as in Iowa with Ethanol and the Farm Bill, as well as on trade issues. He sometimes gives long answers that get him in trouble when short answers would do, and those long answers sometimes get him in trouble (see: flag pin). He was too sure of himself at the beginning in thinking that his was the only voting coalition that would be susceptible to not voting Democrat in the fall. And I’m sure there are many others out there…

    Sean,

Not to come down on the faults you just listed, as I know you were legitimately trying to provide some, but I find it funny that when most are asked to list Barack’s pros they bring up examples of his speaking skills, and now for some of his cons you bring them up again. Both pros and cons should have way more to do with his policy not his preaching.

Also, just about every pundit on T.V. might not be so bold to call people racist, but they have said repeatedly that Hillary is beating him because of race. They fail to mention the fact that Barack has beat her in many states because of race as well.
