I’m Betting The Legislature Swerves First

Legislators and the Governor are at odds over the details of the buyout offers Gov. Bredesen wants to give state employees in order to cut reoccurring expenditures:

The Governor has said that if the General Assembly wants to see the details of the buyout, it will need to say in session for another two weeks. Legislative leaders want the two houses to meet for one last day to pass a budget.

Nashville Democrats Mike Turner and Gary Moore argued for more information in a House Democratic Caucus meeting. Moore says they’re being asked to sign a “blank check.”
