Our Hardworking Citizen Legislature

Posted on May 13, 2008 at 2:02 pm

After much debate, our Tennessee House of Representatives narrowly failed to pass a resolution calling on the federal government to create a Department of Peace. Impassioned speeches were delivered by both sides of the issue.

I feel so much better we got all that out in the open.

Hey, isn’t there some pressing budget issues before the assembly or am I imagining that?

What a thourough waste of a state legislature’s time. We have a Department of Peace. It’s called the State Department. Can’t these people find enough time to deal with the affairs of our own state?

“I understand about indecision / But I don’t care if I get behind / People living in competition / All I want is to have my peace of mind …” But “Take a look ahead / Take a look ahead …”

    – Boston, “Peace of Mind,” the only peace in this world we have a hope of attaining
