Mary Mancini, the Nashville radio host who declared that everyone she knew voted for Obama, urges people not to dismissively discard the emails you receive about Barack Obama’s religious heritage.

    I guess I’m just not on a lot of email lists, because I don’t think I’ve received a single email about that.

    I haven’t either, Sean, because of my Obubble Email Force Field which stops those emails from ever reaching my inbox. Ignorance is, well, was, bliss!

    Interestingly, a suggestion was made to not wait to get the email o’ lies but to use the truth as a preemptive strike.

    If they can do it then we can too!

    They are out there and are having more affect than people think. I’ve gotten them from several people. In the general election this will have to be addressed more forcefully by the candidate and his campaign. While people that wouldn’t vote for a Democrat are using this as just another excuse, some are using the “Muslim thing” or “patriotic thing” as a cover for not voting for a black candidate. But most of all, people that don’t pay attention to politics 24/7 get their information this way, and for whatever reason they believe an email about Obama’s religious heritage. These are the same people that forward an email thinking it’ll get them a free iPod. These emails help to spread word of mouth, and need to be rebutted whenever you can.
