Of Course, If They Were Really That Close He’d Have Kept That To Himself

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate and Brack Obama supporter, Bob Tuke, gives any potential 2012 Republican primary challenger to Senator Bob Corker a nice little soundbite to play with down the road:

“I think it ties him too close to Washington,” he said. “I don’t think he sets the agenda.”

But Tuke said he agreed with Alexander that Americans should make a stronger commitment nationwide to alternative energy research.

In remarks made Friday at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Alexander said doing so could help ward off higher gas prices, national security risks and environmental consequences.

Tuke said he thinks Americans must curb their energy use and work to improve and expand use of mass transportation.

Still, Tuke said he thinks Alexander has not done enough to work with Democrats in Congress.

Tuke said he has a close relationship with Tennessee’s other Republican senator, Bob Corker.

“He’s a good, practical guy,” Tuke said of Corker. “He and I can work together.

    Corker Earns Accolades…

    Corker Earns Accolades — Sen. Bob Corker has both been pleasantly surprising and upsetting to conservatives since taking office - which probably means he’s doing something right. Corker who is not afraid to criticize even members of his own party……
